Our Story

Two hearts, one heritage — woven in gold, ruled by grace.

RUSHU is a dream where India’s indigenous handlooms and artistry stand on the global stage, honoured, admired and timeless.

I learnt style from my mother; she taught me all about style – she was one of the most fashionable, most independent, and most modern Maharanis, yet she always insisted she was ordinary.

—Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur

About Rushu

RUSHU embodies the spirit of the sage – one who is accomplished, a seeker of wisdom, and deeply rooted in heritage.

The name represents both the ancient tradition of seeking knowledge and the timeless bond passed from mother to her prodigy, connecting generations of wisdom, love, and cultural pride.

It is not just a name, but a journey of what we inherit and what we create –

A mother is the seeker of tradition, the guardian of heritage, values, and culture.

A daughter is the accomplished visionary — carrying those traditions forward, reimagining them with wisdom for tomorrow.

Together, they form Rushu: the harmony of tradition and vision, the seeker of wisdom across generations.

Rushu is not only about who we are, but also about who we are becoming —rooted, accomplished, and ever seeking.

Founder’s Note

Welcome to Rushu, a place where a mother’s wisdom meets a daughter’s vision – strength and soul intertwined in silk, together we weave sarees that are living legacies.

Every Rushu saree is an enduring expression of resilience, grace and soft – power, something that does not make noise, but shakes the world.

We carry that spirit at RUSHU, a couture handloom brand dedicated to exquisite sarees that embody regal elegance and artisanal mastery.

Inspired by my best friend cum visionary partner’s entrepreneurial spirit and our extraordinary bond with India’s rich cultural heritage – the vibrant, intricate world of handlooms — we embarked on a journey to manifest our shared desire to serve the timeless artistry of traditional craftsmanship.

Born of love and legacy, RUSHU is a celebration of stories –  tales of heritage, of strength and grace, and of a lineage I felt destined to embrace. It is more than couture; it is an ode to womanhood in all its regality and resilience.

RUSHU aspires not merely to clothe, but to honour the soft power of intellect, endurance, and quiet rebellion — for royalty lies not in blood alone, but in the heart one wears and the soul one carries.

Welcome to Rushu, The House of Legacy!

Look for the Silk Mark tag. Additionally, in true Tanchui/Kadua weaves, the motifs will mirror perfectly on both sides of the fabric.

The two main collections are Maharani Weaves (finest, most decorated masterpieces) and Divyangana Edit (luxury handloom sarees, made for daughters).

Dry cleaning is highly recommended to preserve the natural sheen and vibrant colors. Store the saree in muslin or cotton wraps to allow the fabric to breathe.

Our sarees are handpicked and curated directly from master artisans (no middlemen/markups), bear the Silk Mark for purity, and are part of limited, intentional creations.

No, we do not offer Cash on Delivery (COD) services. All purchases must be completed through our secure online payment methods.
